Purpose

The Institute of Plant Biology / Microbiology of the University of Zürich maintains a mobile High Mountain Research Station which is available for all kinds of research in the mountain area where it is temporarily located. The station is designed to allow investigators to carry out research safely under severe environmental conditions, high above the treeline.

Research partners from the University of Zürich and from other Universities in Switzerland and abroad are welcome to use the station. It is open to all institutions which contribute through their research to a better understanding of high mountain ecology. Interdisciplinary projects are particularly encouraged.
